Today, we played Ice Hockey on a table! It was a lot of fun!! Students enjoyed hitting ice cubes with blocks.
The topic of August “Summer and Water” has finished today. It was the last time for the students to sing summer songs that they liked.
We will have a new topic “Foods” in September.
Today, students learnt the letter “D” and made a letter art called “D is for Dinosaur”.
We also picked up some toys in our school and did an experiment to see if they would sink or float. It was one of the best and the most amazing science experiments we did this summer!
We have noticed that our students have started singing English songs in louder voices. We are very happy to see that they are becoming more comfortable and confident in an English speaking environment.
Week 2 of Lucky Kids Summer School was equally fun! We started off the week learning about the different summer activities that we can do such as hiking, camping and eating watermelons! We also learned a great song called Summertime which the kids enjoyed singing the whole week.
We had different activities each day! On Monday, the kids had to pack some items that they would need at the beach in their own backpacks! They learnt the words such as “sunglasses” and “flip-flops”.
Tuesday was even more fun! We made our very own fireworks! Each kid had their ownfireworks designs which were really colorful and interesting.
Under the Sea was the main topic for Wednesday and Thursday. We explored different sea creatures and made our very own Paper Plate Aquarium!
We also cooked Fruit Salad
And what better way to end this year’s Summer School but with a Summer Festival?! It was really fun! The kids enjoyed going to different shops and games!
All in all, Lucky Kids first ever Summer Program was a huge success! We were very happy to meet everyone and we hope that we will get to see you again in our future events and activities.
Lucky Kids has launched our 2nd week of summer course safely and filled with lots of laughter!!!
We have reviewed phonics from last week, and learning more.
So far the weather is great, so we are able to go out to play in the park everyday!
We even had picnic at a park near by.
Time flies like an arrow!!! The summer course week one ended in success today!!
Thank you very much for all the parents and students’ cooperation!
On Wednesday, we went on a Picnic at Kodaira chuo Koen(Kodaira central park). After playing some fun games, we had the much-awaited water play!!! The students brought their own water guns and water toys and we had so much fun time playing in the water!! Everyone was wet from top to bottom!!! Eating outside with lots of friends made our lunch taste even better!!!
On Thursday, each students made their own summer greeting cards for their parents and actually mailed them!! We were able to go to the post box before it rained!! I hope the parents will like and enjoy the card their child made!
Friday was filled with lots of fun activities!!! In the morning we made yummy potato cakes!! Each student was given one plastic bag with boiled potatoes and potato starch. Then we mashed the potatoes in the bag with our hands. We then made different shapes and baked them. We ate them during the Summer Festival!
We had Summer Festival after lunch that we all had been waiting for!! We played some great BGMs of Omatsuri (summer festivals in Japan) that made it even more like “Festival”!! We had several shops that students can go to such as face painting, fishing game and an ice cream shop. Students were able to take home the prizes they got from the game corners as well as the things they bought.
The Lucky Kids staff had so much fun time this week!! We are going to miss all of you so much!!
Thank you again for participating in our summer course week one!
We hope to see you soon in the near future!!!
Lucky Kids Summer Course has started from August 11th. The students have had a lot of fun pretending camping in the class room, making ice cream crafts, and playing outside in the park, as well as singing and dancing in English! The range of the students’ ages is from 3 to 10, and we do all the activities together. The teachers are happy to see that the older students are taking good care of the younger students. We are also very happy to see all of the students help teachers move tables and chairs or clean up the room. The two days flied so fast! Let’s enjoy the rest of the week together!
Pull the bag!!! is what we did in Little Diamonds class today.
This is a great exercise for their gross motor skills and a fun game!
The bag was filled with some news papers so it was not very heavy. Students must pull the bag to each Disney characters as they were told.
For Early Literacy, the students are starting to recognize their alphabets very well!! We used sand box and tried to make shapes of the alphabets on the sand.
