Just a friendly reminder that Disney Fun with Kids! is coming up on April 17th, Sunday.
Our own T. Norito will be bringing his native singing friends to host a Disney concert for your kids, so please come and join in the fun with your family if you can find the time.
Story time (Disney of course) and a quick introduction of our classes at Lucky Kids will be included towards the end, so if you can invite your child’s friends that would be fantastic. See you there!
This month for speech class the topic will be on introducing our favorite celebrities!
The kids will profile their favorite celebrities in English, then practice giving introductory speeches on them.
We hope giving them assignments centered around familiar figures in their lives will do good to their motivation. Moms and dads, please look forward to their speeches at the end of the month.
On the 9th of April, from 13:00 Lucky Kids will be on air@FM West Tokyo, so stay tuned
There are three ways to listen:
1. Adjust the frequency on your radio to FM82.4Hz
2. Go to FM West Tokyo website and click on Internet broadcast (インターネット配信)
3. Download the TuneIn Radio smartphone app
Congratulations to our new Brilliant Crystals graduates! To our younger ones, let’s have fun starting from April too!
Last Saturday was open day. The kids demonstrated what they’ve been learning so far with ESL through card games – everybody did really well!
Starting from April the members of this class will change, and things will be a little bit lonely, but with change comes new beginnings, so that’s something to look forward to!
Our last day for Sparkling Sapphires is upon us!
It’s not like we won’t see them, most of them will be joining us, most of them will be coming back for the afternoon classes, but seeing all these kids that started as babies leaving…it leaves us very emotional and teary eyed.
The pictures below are of the kids receiving their awards, it’s as if their growth is brimming from the photos.
Starting from April the Sparkling Sapphires class and our new Pre Spahhires class will begin, and we cannot wait to start them with our new students!
This month has been all about fairy tales for our kinder students. From Rapunzel to three little pigs crafts, everybody was excited to work with a familiar theme. As promised, we had a dragon craft ready for the boys too! It was very funny to see the boys running around the room, holding their dragons and screaming sound effects lol

Continuing from last month’s community helpers topic, we’ve moved on to our new fairy tales topic. First, a little bit of digest from last month. When the kids played pretend with Doctor Edward, because the situation was so real to the children, some burst out crying while others struggled to keep their faces from crumpling, it was a very funny sight
We also had fun with restaurant role play, where the kids took turns being waters/waitresses, customers etc.
All the roles were popular except for the clerk
It seems so sudden, but March is already upon us, and our theme this month is fairy tales.
All the kids, especially the girls, are very excited to work with flashcards like princess. Our first week is on snow white, and for music and movement we sang and marched along with paper pickaxes to the song Heigh Ho, it’s very popular with the kids already.
Next week will be on the three little pigs, more fun activities coming soon!
The last picture is of them practicing pouring water into a cup from a milk carton. The kids are starting to show improvement, so we suggest letting them try at home as well. Don’t forget the towels!
For speech class the kids are always required to learn many sets on phrases depending on the topic. Here is a shot from T. Nel’s popular ball game, where the balls are scattered around the room. The kids have to then pick the balls up and attempt to throw them back in the box, but they have to first say all their phrases. If anybody makes a mistake, the game is reset and all the balls come pouring out again! Not only does this encourage practice, but teamwork as well, and before they know it they’ve memorized not just their own but their friend’s phrases as well.
It only seems like yesterday when we exchanged our new years greetings with everybody, how time flies!
This month’s theme will be on community helpers, buuuut,
whaddaya know, an ogre’s showed up at our school!
That’s right, it’s setsubun season and our sparkling sapphires threw color balls at the ogre instead of beans.
Some became teary eyed, while others wore defiant expressions and threw the balls at him. Spring should come smoothly now huh
