For our final week, the kinders will be making pizza and fruit juice. For the pizza, the kids kneaded dough, cut up the ingredients and also took part in ESL conversations answering what they wanted on their pizza.
For fruit juice, they’ll be cutting oranges and bananas into small pieces, then we’ll throw them into the mixer and watch as it turns into juice.
We’ve started accepting new students for our pre-kindergarten class and kindergarten class for the school year of 2017. We have all kinds of activities ready with themes ranging from rhythmic to games involving intellectual training, all in English of course
We will have trial lessons for 5400 yen on the following dates:
2016 November 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 (5 days). Please do come check us out!
This class is specifically aimed at children from ages 1 ( who have learnt how to walk) to 5,
the trial lessons are for that one whole week from 10:00 to 11:30, and the price is 5400 yen for all days combined.
Details of the classes are as shown here. We look forward to hearing from you.
In Brilliant Crystals Class, the topic of this month is “Foods”.
For conversation, the students have been practicing saying what they want on their pizzas. Today, they actually made a pizza, kneaded the dough, cut vegetables and put them on their pizzas. All of them enjoyed cooking!! Good job everyone!
This month the Elementary kids will be covering a rather curious theme -mythological creatures. Although kids in Japan get plenty of exposure to them in comic books, anime or games, it isn’t every day they receive an in depth explanation of iconic mythological creatures and what they’re said to be capable of. We thought this would prove to be an interesting experience for the kids, hope they enjoy
The Dazzling Rubies will be doing an all month craft project this month, where we’ll make vegetable crafts and design a whole garden. So far we’ve made corn, tomatoes and potatoes. As the theme is on food, we’ll be learning about all kinds of fruit and vegetables in the process. We hope this project will encourage the kids to try and identify food on the dinner table in English
Today for our afternoon Dazzling Rubies class, we had a total of 11 kids!
It’s always more exciting with lots of friends, and with songs it’s easier to start a chain reaction. This month’s theme has been Summer and Water, and today for crafts we colored and decorated mermaids!
Hang in there guys, the weather will start to get cooler soon!
This month the Dazzling Rubies students have been learning about summer. In class we have been doing a Total Physical Response activity with a summer song, and learning English words related to summer.
One of the words we have been learning is sunglasses. We have been making a Sunglasses craft and a summer hair craft in class. The students had fun using straws to transfer paint onto a picture of a face and coloring sunglasses in their favorite colors.
Every lesson during literacy time, we sing ABC phonics songs and drill the many sounds into the kids, then we play games to test their understanding. This has been an ongoing thing ever since every single one of them joined our school, and as we played the usual identify-the-sound-with-the-picture game today, we were really amazed at how smoothly they figured things out.
Phonics is without a question the most important and fundamental area in learning the English language, and we are really happy that the kids are catching on while having fun at the same time
We had our annual Summer Course this year too! We teachers had many meetings and carefully planned everything out so that the kids could have a good time, and it was all worth it too!
For day one we all introduced ourselves to each other and made friends, and for the entire week we played English games and made crafts. From this year we also added a bit of study into the curriculum as well. Everybody showed active participation with every activity, thanks so much guys!
On Wednesday we had our picnic field trip at Kodaira central park. First off we played at the park on the swings, slides etc.
Blowing bubbles was especially popular with the younger ones, and it was nice to see the older ones looking after them too!
Lunch outside was lively and fun, then afterwards they all played in the shallow pool. Squirting teachers with water guns, diving into the water, every kid had fun in their own way.
On Friday we had our summer festival at Lucky Kids. The kinders made popsicles while the elementary kids made popcorn. We divided into groups and took turns moving around many booths, from face painting to shooting range.
This year’s summer school ended too soon, we look forward to seeing you all in the next!

This past month our Elementary kids have been trying out all sorts of Origami, with instructions given in English.
What started off with shapes soon led to dogs, cats, and even shurikens! They’ve come to understand terms such as fold, crease, turn over etc.
The picture below is one of the hardest ones they tried, we think they did very well!
