Happy New Year!
Our first Sparkling Sapphires class of the year started off as a bright sunny day, and their smiles were equally as radiant
After a long break, some of the kids understandably had teary eyes, but the moment they managed to wave their hands goodbye to their moms, they started laughing and playing with friends and teachers.
…not to mention a wonderful opportunity for us teachers to get some exercise, especially after all that food from New Years.
We’ll continue to do our best to bring out the smiles of your kids, as well as coming up with fun activities for their benefit.
Here’s to another great year for all of us
We had our last class for the year at Lucky Kids today. Action packed as usual, but for arts and crafts we did something special; osechi origami craft! Everybody had fun rearranging everything the way they liked, especially the girls. It’s been a great year for Brilliant Crystals, and we’re really looking forward to another great year with the kids next year.
Happy Holidays from Lucky Kids!
Today was the last day for the Sparkling Sapphire class students to come to LK before we welcome the new year of 2015. All this week, the students have been working on Christmas craft and reviewing Christmas and winter words, which was their main topics for this month. For the craft activity, Sparkling Sapphires made their own wreaths and took them home so they can hang the wreath on Christmas tree at home. Please take a look how well they have done!
A day before Christmas, the students made very cute Christmas cards for their parents. On the card, it says “Dear Mom and Dad. Merry Christmas. I love you. Love…” The older students were able to write by themselves, and the small friends had some help from the teacher.
Sapphires enjoyed listening to winter stories as well. This week, we had chances to hear so many new stories:) Please see how serious their faces get, when they are listening to the story!!
Great job Sparkling Sapphires! I hope you have a happy and great time welcoming the new year!! Looking forward Seeing you all in the year 2015!!

We had our last class of the year for one of our Elementary classes last Monday. After reviewing the topics we did this year, we had fun making Osechi craft with origami! Our student this day was pretty stoked about it all, he told us that he really looks forward to the Osechi that his mother makes every year
We look forward to seeing everybody from Elementary class starting next year! Happy Holidays!!
Today was another fun day for the Brilliant Crystals. Friends full of energy and an equally genial teacher, everybody was constantly laughing
For their science project they dripped colored water onto medium sized lumps of ice and watched as the color seeped into the ice. Everybody was concentrating to the max during this time!
We were able to have a very good class today, we look forward to seeing everybody next week too!
We had our first ever Christmas show on the 14th this month.
The kids had really been practicing hard since November, so we were anxious and but also filled with anticipation.
Everybody did so well, especially the ones that often cry or run around in class, we were so proud!
We threw this party in hopes of being able to show parents their kids’ growth, while having a cozy atmosphere at the same time so we are glad with how everything turned out.
This is a joint performance with everybody from Little Diamonds and Sparkling Sapphires. Kids from below 1 ~ 2 sang to jingle bells. They used shakers that they made in class. Despite being in front of a crowd of adults, everybody’s smiles shone through
This is everybody from Brilliant Crystals. They played their mini drums to the song Bangedy bang bang, then proceeded to say what they wanted for Christmas. Finally they gave a skit based on their favorite book “my pet”
Despite having so many lines to remember, we were all surprised at how well everybody did.
The older ones from Elementary class are singing Little drummer boy in this one. They learnt this one really well, even though it had so many words that are hard even for adults to memorize.
Finally the speech class gave their self introductions as well as what they wanted for Christmas, in a slightly more wordy structure as opposed to the Brilliant Crystals. The whole point of this class is to nurture in the kids the confidence and skills needed to clearly state their opinions in front of other people, so the teachers of speech class were very proud at how imposing they were then they separately did their thing.
The program went by so fast, we loved every moment of it and we hope that you did too! It was so nice to see our students perform what they had been practicing for weeks and weeks. We’ll definitely step our game up for Christmas next year
Thank you so much to all of you who had contributed to our cause in any way.
Today for Elementary class we did the infamous vinegar and baking soda experiment. The reaction on children’s faces when they see the balloon blow up by itself never gets old! There are many things you can teach kids with this experiment, especially if your kids like fizzy drinks! As everything around us slowly starts to shift into New Years mode, we’ve also started reviewing everything we’ve learnt this year
Today was the last class for Little Diamonds to practice before the actual Christmas Show. The students already know the songs and the dance moves by heart now(^^)
For the Early Literacy, we sang the upbeat ABC song which we all like. And the students were able to recognize and take all the alphabet cards to the teacher, as she asked for kids to bring them to her one by one!
For the Fine Motor Skill activities, we worked on stocking lacing. This is to practice putting a yarn through the hole. We were very surprised how 2 year-old child can do so good with putting yarn through such a small hole.
Great job Little Diamonds! Let’s have fun at Christmas Party!!!
